There's a story behind HourTown's online calendar
It was 10am on a Tuesday morning and the product design team had a problem. Around the room sat eight small business owners with blank expressions on their faces. There was Donna the massage therapist, Richard the fitness trainer, Cindy the esthetician and there was Sam, a financial advisor who kept checking his watch. Scribbled on top of the whiteboard were the words "It has to be drop-dead easy." The team had two hours to figure out a way to convince these eight business owners to trade in their old-fashioned paper day planners for an online scheduling system.
By partnering with small business owners to participate in the design process from day one, HourTown has created an online calendar that finally gives small business owners a reason to change the way they manage their time and their clients.

Repeating Events
HourTown's online calendar supports repeating events. In seconds, you can
easily enter a series of apppointments with a customer and optionally choose
to have a reminder notification automatically sent the day before each appointment.
Your clients will appreciate the extra reminder and you'll appreciate the
decrease in tardiness and no-shows.
Drag and drop
We realized early on that if we didn't make our calendar as easy to use
as the paper day planner you carry around, we would never be successful.
So, we've made an extra effort to make our online calendar as easy as possible.
To reschedule an appointment with a client, simple drag the appointment
to the new time and drop it. All the data is re-recorded and your client
has just been notified. How easy is that?

You don't have to quit paper
We
know you probably don't have a wireless internet connection around you 24
hours a day and there's no need to give up using paper just because you're
using an online calendar. HourTown's print capabilities will publish a well-designed
snapshot of your day including all of your clients contact information (phone,
email) so that you can tape your schedule on the wall, put it in your pocket,
or stick it in your day planner.
